GPnotebook Diabetes Clinics is aimed at all HCPs (GPs, ANPs, Practice Nurses, DSNs, Pharmacists & Paramedics) in Primary Care caring for people living with diabetes. Course content will use multiple patient case studies to cover the latest clinical guidance, research and hot topics to help us help those living with diabetes. Specific topics included will include diabetes prevention, diagnostic dilemmas in diabetes and individualisation of HbA1c targets encompassing de-escalation thresholds in frailty. A 90-minute session will be dedicated to “What next after metformin?” to help navigate that post-metformin melange. Finally, management of common complications of diabetes will be covered including cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease and also neuropathy. Interspersed throughout the day will be several diabetes “shorts”: bite-sized clinical nuggets on a variety of topics including non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, thyroid disease and the management of hypoglycaemia.
